Michiel,My own experience with Telecom companies is that the decision cultures can vary drastically. Very smplistically, the cellular industry seems to be running as fast as they can and portfolio managemtn seems to work best when it is deployed tactically at the Business Unit level. In other words, distributed decision making and localized portfolio management seems to work best for them. With the more traditional telecom companies, they are more traditional in their process,

Dear Demian,Thanks for your insights. On the relation between Product Portfolio Management and Project Portfolio Management I was indeed thinking on New Product Development Projects; in this relation I think those cannot be seperated.The criteria's named are indeed organisation specific and do differ over different organisations and industries.
