Spiced Dried Fruit Salad - July 2, 2008

When served warm this is a great fruit dessert for those cold winter nights. I serve it with good quality Greek yoghurt. Or, serve it chilled with icecream. Or with pancakes for breakfast. This is a favourite with my family. It can be varied infinitely too - so don't worry if you don't have all the ingredients. This comes from Stephanie Alexander's Cooks Companion. Australian measurements used. -- posted by Mischka

Soup That's "cool As A..." Well You Know- Cucumber! F - July 2, 2008

Having tons of fresh dill and a few extra cucumbers on hand, I decided to search Recipe Zaar for a cold cucumber soup to try. However, I just couldnt find a soup that was quite what I wanted, so I took elements from a few that tickled my fancy and made my own. As always, you can adjust the ingredients to taste, especially the garlic (which can be increased, decreased, or even eliminated) and the dill. I hope you enjoy it... and be sure to leave a comment! -- posted by jerseagrl

Sweeter Pumpkin Graham Bread - Abm - July 2, 2008

I used pumpkin pie mix from a can when I made this bread because I didn't know there was anywhere to shop other than Wal-Mart at the time. So that's why I changed the name. The original recipe is from the book The New Bread Machine Book, by Marjie Lambert. This recipe is for a 1 and a half lb. loaf. Special instructions!!!!!!!: If the dough is too soft, add 1 table spoon of flour at a time durning the kneeding process, if it is too stiff add one teaspoon of water at a time. This part can...

Sugar and Spice Pecan Bread (Abm) - July 2, 2008

This makes a small 1lb loaf but it can be increased to make a larger loaf for larger families. It makes exquisite toast and I think French Toast made on Christmas morning from it is almost a requirement :D. -- posted by Annacia

Mexican Mix-Up - July 2, 2008

This easy recipe is a hit each time I make it. It also goes great topped with cheese. I use a very large and very deep skillet to prepare most of the dish, but a wok might work if you don't have that large of a skillet. The mexican mix has corn, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, and onion. The key vegetables are corn and peppers, but you can try different variations to change the flavor and color balance. -- posted by Cerulean
