Recipezaar: Cajun recipesThe newest Recipezaar recipesin:CajunPraline Muffins- January 30, 2008 Great quick and easy recipe from New Orleans, Louisana "Cajun Cookin' School". Picked up the recipe at their storekitchencafe on my way back from Katrina Hurricane Relief along the Gulf Coast of USA. Has been a great treat for friends with a sweet tooth. LOL Actually my wife loves them too. I Bake'em, bag'em 6 in a bag, and we eat'em, whenever! -- posted by MadCity Dalehttp://www.recipezaar.com/282630 Crabby Cajun Dip (A Light and Easy Crab Dip)- January 29, 2008 From Cooking Light. This isn't the best crab dip ever (the ones with a cup of mayo and a cup of cheese get that award), but it is pretty darn tasty and reasonably healthy to boot. It is also easy to throw together. -- posted by Gingernuthttp://www.recipezaar.com/282378 Cajun Crock Pot Steak- January 29, 2008 Thought I'd try a variation on good old beef stew. I used Schwartz Blackened Cajun Seasoning but I'm sure any other cajun spices would do. I used casserole steak (chuck steak or braising steak) - use your own preferred joint. I also shredded my veg using a food processor as my SO doesn't like chunks of carrot. Herb Dumplings added a nice dimension to the dish. I'd suggest saffron rice as a good partner for this dish. -- posted by live to cookhttp://www.recipezaar.com/282100 Chicken & Sausage Gumbo- January 25, 2008 From a local TV show where the guest of honor made their "famous" gumbo. It is similar to the gumbo my little brother makes. -- posted by Sherrybethhttp://www.recipezaar.com/281482 Cajun Chicken Maque Choux- January 23, 2008 from 1995 cooking light -- posted by fiddler mikeyhttp://www.recipezaar.com/281127 9 Bean Soup- January 23, 2008 This is from the New Orleans School of Cooking, So good! -- posted by Laskohttp://www.recipezaar.com/281019 Wintzell's Gumbo- January 22, 2008 According to DH, the world's best gumbo is served at Wintzell's Oyster House in Mobile, AL, so I was really excited when I received Alabama's "Thicket" magazine with the recipe for it inside. Wintzell's has been in business since 1938, was named in Willard Scott's All-American Cookbook for the Best Oysters and Crabs, and has been featured in Southern Living Magazine. I'll probably do a mixture of shrimp and oysters for the gumbo instead of using just oysters. Just pull out and plug in the next morning. -- posted by LynnG 2http://www.recipezaar.com/279544 Creole Gingerbread With Lime Cream- January 15, 2008 Another cake with fresh ginger -- I love 'em. This one is from Susan Spicer of Bayonna in New Orleans. The lime cream is really wonderful. The time shown assumes you make the lime cream while the cake is baking. It does not include cooling time. -- posted by Chef Katehttp://www.recipezaar.com/279152 Cajun Grilled Chicken- January 15, 2008 This is from a recipe card for fresh herbs I got at WalMart.
