A trial run allowed me to tweak it before serving it tonight. The recipe originally comes from The Magnolia Bakery Cookbook by Simon & Schuster (1954). Comments from the Food Network are that the icing requires constant whipping but the...http://www.recipezaar.com/299685 Pineapple Cake With Raspberry Sauce- April 18, 2008 It simply wouldn't be holidays in our family without this wonderful dessert. Cool and creamy, it looks beautiful drizzled with the simply raspberry sauce. -- posted by Marievillehttp://www.recipezaar.com/299339 'nothing Goes to Waist' Chocolate Cake- April 16, 2008 Cheesy title. Came up with this off the top of my head a few hours ago Not a bad alternative to 'fat free, low calorie' cakes laden with oil or topped with buttercream! -- posted by Hikikohttp://www.recipezaar.com/298793 ChocolateEspresso Pour Icing- April 14, 2008 This cake icing is perfect for a 9x13 inch cake left in the pan. It is rich with chocolate flavor and married with one of chocolate's natural partners, espresso. I added instant espresso powder to the milk called for in the recipe, but I suppose if you wanted to omit the milk, you could just add the equivalent of freshly brewed espresso with it's exquisite crema. Or even go total latte.Getting the espresso flavor in there is the key. -- posted by Citruholichttp://www.recipezaar.com/298259 Cream Cheese Icing for One 9" Cake- April 11, 2008 This is a recipe for cream cheese icing that has been adapted to ice a single 9" cake- it's delicious with carrot cake. I am always having to have to reduce cream cheese recipes to suit my needs- they always make way too much for me to use! So here is an adapted version that I will use forevermore, and hope others will find helpful. Enjoy! -- posted by Chef 290578http://www.recipezaar.com/298008 Strawberries and Cream Cupcakes- April 11, 2008 this is another recipe i created on a whim. i was making plain cupcakes and looked in my cupboard and i noticed a full bottle of strawberry essence from my chocolate making experiments at easter. i love the topping for this. white chocolate ganache is divine with these cupcakes. but don't add too much cream. it might look too little but the recipe is correct. if you want you can add a fresh strawberry on top. -- posted by Chef 814393http://www.recipezaar.com/297991 Crusting Cream Cheese IcingFrosting- April 11, 2008 I found this recipe on another site, courtesy of Kathy Finholt. I love it and used it on the "Why I Joined Zaar Carrot Cake" recipe. It got such rave reviews - both the cake and the icing. I hope you enjoy it as much as we all have. In case you don't know, crusting means that it hardens, but not like a royal icing. This will allow you to smooth it out and get a really smooth icing. You don't have to, but if you like the look of Fondant, you can almost get it as smooth as...http://www.recipezaar.com/297863 |
